Jiawen (Sarah) Yan, Photo Editor
This is Sarah’s second year in the AV Journalism program. She moved to Pleasanton four and a half years ago and developed a huge interest in video editing. She became very passionate about photography as she joined journalism last year. She is always excited to meet new people with the same interests. She is an introvert, but she enjoys talking to people with common interests.
Other than journalism, her hobbies are dance and volleyball. Her favorite foods are sushi and hotpot. She was a member of the Harvest Park media class. She is trained in producing a live broadcast. However, she doesn't enjoy being on camera, instead she prefers to work behind the scenes.
She completed the 2021 UCLA Digital Filmmaking summer program where she got to operate all kinds of equipment and gained a memorable experience on video production. She also participated in the 2022 Tisch Filmmaker summer program at NYU where she gained inspirations on technique of storytelling through film. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in the filmmaking industry and possibly work with people she admires.
