Coming back out of retirement, Jack Parsons returns to Amador as Vice Principal to finish out the 2025-2026 school year. He previously was a sports coach and teachers at Amador Valley. He is gladly returning to Amador to serve as VP for the remainder of the year, before going back to enjoy his retirement.
“Coming back here is great. I love the school and it’s always been a fun place to be,” said Parsons.
Previous Career at Amador
He was a coach for various Amador sports programs. Parsons has been involved in lot of Amador facilities. He founded the Lacrosse Program in the early 2000’s and Parsons briefly worked at Amador during COVID.
“I started in Pleasanton in 1992, I started out as a track and field coach and then cross country coach, a football coach, and I also started the Lacrosse program here,” said Parsons.
Life as a Don
Parsons is stepping in as VP to oversee the important student resources for learning accommodations. He is making sure the office runs smoothly while the school looks for a new permanent VP. Parsons is glad to help for the rest of the school year to make sure it goes well.
“I’m here to work with the special ed department and oversee 504 IEPs. And just keep the team moving slowly and steady forward,” said Parsons.
As summer break approaches, Parsons detailed the evolutions he has seen Amador go through.
“This is a great place, just the way it is. One of the big differences between now and when my kids went to school here is the size. This place has almost doubled in student population since then. The facilities are great. The kids are great. The staff are great,” said Parsons.
Becoming a VP
Throughout his career, he never expected to become a VP. Always teaching or coaching a sports program, being a VP was a change of pace for him.
“I did not expect to be a VP. Not at the time. I was teaching math at Harvest Park,” said Parsons.
Getting this position was a surprise to him and he admits that he sees his career in his hobbies outside of school. He enjoys outdoor hobbies as well as being around welcoming and friendly people.
“I enjoy activities such as hiking, biking, and camping. I recently started playing golf, which is a challenge and like being around large groups of people, ” said Parsons.
As the school year comes to a close in just a few months, everybody is excited for the next round of seniors to graduate and new people to join next year.
“I look forward to graduation. That’s always the greatest day of the school year. Then, I’m going back to retirement and working on my golf game,” said Parsons.
