The votes are in, and Amador’s class officers and ASB positions for the 2026-2027 school year are official! Getting to know the elected Dons will give a glimpse into all that next year holds.
Sophomore Class Officers
Next year’s sophomore class president Seah Kim (‘29) is walking into her term with previous experience. She wishes to take steps to connect students even beyond Amador Valley.
“One of the things that I’ve wanted to do is kind of like outreach. When I was in eighth grade, I was also in leadership and I did a lot of stuff like outreach for younger elementary school students. And I think that a lot of younger kids look up to the high school kids and I kind of want to extend that towards the wider PUSD district,” said Kim.
Kim’s school spirit stems from her passion for leadership and involvement in school activities, but her passions lie beyond school, too.
“I’m in track right now. I’m doing distance. I also really, really love writing, that’s kind of like a passion, like a hobby of mine. I also play in the orchestra,” said Kim.
Kelsey Aguiar (‘29) is the current freshman class president and will be next year’s sophomore class vice president alongside Kim.
“I decided to run for vice president because I wanted to expand my leadership abilities with another position, especially since I’m a class officer this year, I wanted to not just go for just one position, but expand it more,” said Aguiar.
Aguiar plans on continuing her involvement in leadership; she looks forward to the anticipation of years to come and future events.
“I’m excited about looking for prom venues. I think that would be really fun, getting kind of into that prom vibe early on,” said Aguiar.
Junior Class Officers
Elena Eichler (‘28) will be the junior class’ president next school year, and the much anticipated junior prom is already on her mind.
“I’m most excited about planning prom because I think prom is like an event that you only have once in your life and making it really special for everyone so everyone’s super excited about it is what I’m really looking forward to,” said Eichler.
Her genuine passion for leadership and involvement led Eichler to run for office this year. Much like some of the others elected for positions, she will go into the year with prior experience.
“I’m on the swim team at Amador and I also am in leadership and a part of Mr. Amador, so I do a lot of things around school,” said Eichler, “I love being involved in everything.”
Ella McGovern (‘28) was elected as vice president for the juniors. It is important to her that as many people as possible are pleased with what they see happening around school.
“I’m gonna try taking a lot of people’s different ideas from the grade because I want everyone to get what they envision,” said McGovern.
As someone also involved in leadership, McGovern acknowledges the fun aspect as well as the broader lessons that she is learning through her experiences.
“When you come into the class and you get to work with older people and learn a lot of different ways to work with different types of people, I feel like it teaches you a lot about life,” said McGovern.
Senior Class Officers
Evanee Pol (‘27) will be senior class president next year, and she strives to make next year fun for everyone while having fun herself.
“I decided to run because I wanted to bring a sense of community especially in our class and I think that there’s going to be such fun events that I want to uphold, especially towards the beginning of the year like senior beach day, senior picnic, and then senior sunrise and I think it’d be so fun to incorporate like different things and activities,” said Pol.
As she enters her senior year, Pol is anticipating the end while remembering to enjoy everything up until then. As class president, she will play a role in everyone’s senior year experience.
“Of course I’m excited to graduate, but also I’m really excited to spend this time with these people that I’ve grown to know over the last few years,” said Pol.
Pol wants senior ball to be a night to remember. To ensure that, she is preparing ahead of time before her term begins.
“I’m going to senior ball this year so I’m excited to see what I can do differently and improve or what things I’ll keep,” said Pol.
Mia DeMichiel, who will be senior class secretary next year, expressed similar excitement for senior ball, as well as excitement for problem-solving and fun alongside her fellow officers.
“I’m really excited to just work with the other officers because I’m already friends with them and I feel like it’ll just be a good experience. And I’m also excited to be more involved with rallies and then planning ball,” said DeMichiel.
ASB and Don Squad
ASB and don squad are responsible for encouraging school spirit on game days, as well as handling all the logistics and behind-the-scenes parts of school events.
Soyeon Kim (‘27) will be the 2026-2027 ASB president. Kim explained that a few years ago, she could never have imagined herself as ASB president.
“Before I joined leadership, I was such a shy kid and wasn’t very noticed in school,” said Kim, “I just thought school is just a place where I get my education done.”
Kim emphasized that inclusivity for all students, including people who may feel unnoticed like she used to, is her priority.
“We have a lot planned next year. For the dons out there who are kind of shy and feel unnoticed, next year we’ll make a change in that and you’ll feel so much better at school and be excited to go to school,” said Kim.
Already a member of don squad, Aleena Aasad (‘27) has goals to bring increased energy, spirit, and attendance to events as next year’s don squad president.
“I want to really focus on extending don squad to other sports and not let it die out just after football season. And I also want to focus on making every game like rivalry,” said Asad.
Sarina Lashkarian (‘28), elected as on squad treasurer, did not originally plan on running for a position in don squad, but is increasingly excited to contribute to the group’s game day fun.
“I didn’t even know it was a position that I could run for. I just love the concept of embarrassing yourself a little bit in front of people just to make other people feel confident in themselves. That’s super fun,” said Lashkarian.
