Riya Upadhyaya, Amadon Editor
Riya Upadhyaya (‘27) is a junior at Amador Valley High School, and as a first-year student in Advanced Journalism, she looks forward to helping run the newspaper and writing op-eds as an Amadon Editor. Upadhyaya is a 2025 graduate of the California Scholastic Press Association Journalism program. She is also Co-President of the Amador Writers Ensemble, where she organizes various workshops and helps run the Lighthouse Literary Magazine, an award-winning publication run by the writing club.
In her free time, Upadhyaya enjoys spending time with friends, going for coffee or ice cream runs, listening to music, or watching the same two TV shows on her living room sofa (Gilmore Girls and Friends). This year, she is excited for prom, football games, and all the other school events. In AVJ, she hopes to improve her storytelling skills and continue to explore her passion for writing.
