Sofia Karkar, Staff Writer
In her first year with AV Journalism, Sofia Karkar (‘28) is a staff writer for the 2025-2026 school year. She hopes to strengthen her writing and interviewing skills, with a goal of one day ending up on AVTV or a podcast episode. Sofia enjoys meeting new people, cheering for the school, socializing, and she believes that building connections is one of the best parts of journalism. Her passion for media began in elementary and middle school, where she was always the one eager to film projects, edit videos, and add creative touches to the group assignments. She loves the freedom and imagination that come with making content, and she looks forward to bringing those skills into journalism.
Outside of writing, Sofia spends her time relaxing on her phone, hanging out with friends, or going for walks and hikes. She’s excited to become more involved at school and to continue growing as a student and storyteller.
