The Creatures of Impulse puts on a show every year to commemorate the Halloween festivities. This year they found a new way to adapt by hosting the show on Zoom. Each show lasted one hour and ran from October 24 to October 26.

“Originally I was super nervous about it, if I mess up or perform poorly it’s going to be on the internet forever, but once we had started, it felt like a normal show,” said COI performer, Nathan Fitch(‘21).

The event was recorded by Zoom, and then live-streamed on Pleasanton Live, the youtube channel for the Firehouse Art Center. Users were able to chime in with occasional comments to discuss the storyline and give their complements to the performers.

“I really enjoyed scenes where we developed character relationships. In some ways I even forget that we aren’t all together on stage. COI is still able to tell a story over Zoom and people seem to really enjoy it,” said Fitch

The show ended up doing very well, with many people giving it a big thumbs-up over zoom. It got over 100+ views between the 7:00 PM show on October 24 and the 8:30 PM show on October 26.

If you want to watch the show yourself, go to the Pleasanton Live youtube channel, where they post re-uploads from the live Zoom calls.
