Fans have patiently been waiting for the well-known rapper, Lil Uzi Vert, to drop another hit album since his last popular hit, Luv is Rage 2, released in August of 2017. After nearly two and a half years, the famous hip hop rapper shocked his fans all around the world by surprise-releasing his new album Eternal Atake on Friday, March 6, 2020.

As Lil Uzi Vert has never disappointed in the past, many fans were excited to see what his album has to hold. Uzi has released four albums in the past, making this 2020 wonder his fifth debut album.

“I think Eternal Atake is one of his best albums but definitely not his best. However, his beats are always good, his flow is always good, his voice is always good, he just doesn’t miss,” said Rodrigo Alvarez (‘20)

As it has been two and a half years since the rapper dropped a new album, many fans were wondering why it took so long to release some new music. According to Pitchfork, Lil Uzi Vert has struggled with cooperating with his record agency, which has led to a few brawls between him and other rappers back while the album was being created.

“I read online about how Uzi’s music label wasn’t allowing him to produce or release music, and I assume he wanted to make sure this was one of his best albums due to the wait,” said Alvarez

As Lil Uzi Vert is one of the most popular rappers of our generation, fans are not disappointed with having to wait for a new album. Uzi’s huge fan base makes it easier for people to fall in love with his music and influences others to do the same.

“His music always has a good flow that I think a lot of people love. His beats are really experimental and have a pretty unique sound to them too. Personally, I think his songs are great for the most part and they get me hyped,” said Isabella Mauricio (‘21).

According to the popular pop-culture site Billboard, Lil Uzi Vert’s passion for making music was influenced by his family. Family is a big aspect of the rapper’s life and his family is the sole influence for his music career.

“I like making music, and I like making people happy,” he said. “But the music is whatever, bro. I really do it just to make my family happy. Like, it’s just something for my family to talk about,” said Lil Uzi Vert on Billboard.com

Like many other artists, Lil Uzi Vert has always pleased his fans with his music and never fails to disappoint.

“Uzi likes to keep his fans involved in all aspects of his work and I think a lot of people respect him for that. I really like how Uzi presents himself and I respect him a lot,” said Alvarez.
