Pop singer Billie Eilish recently unveiled a 10 second sample of her upcoming song, ‘Happier than Ever’. In the clip, Billie is sporting a brand new blonde hairstyle sitting on a fancy lace chair, looking into the camera as the vocal “ When I’m away from you, I’m happier than ever” plays in the background.

Her new tanned, monochromatic style was unveiled on the cover of Vogue magazine on May 2nd.  A style, she says, goes outside her comfort zone and promotes body positivity in women. She also has stated that the new look is a statement against men who take advantage of women in modern society.

Fans speculate that this statement has something to do with the lyric shown in the teaser, with the song either being about breaking free from a toxic relationship, or staying away from toxic people in general.

The light and airy guitar tune complimenting the lyrics is a big change from her normally dark and atmospheric style she embraced in her earlier albums “Therefore I am” and “ When we all fall asleep, where do we go”. It seems as if she’s drifting away from her more creepy and dark aesthetic choice and moving towards a new resonant and emotionally charged feel, complimented by her new wardrobe change. Though that doesn’t mean she won’t cover serious topics.

Her latest single, ‘Your Power’, is about a minor getting into an abusive relationship with an older man, something that happens nearly every day and is inflated by the ease of communication in the modern age. Billie has taken multiple stances on issues like these, not only in her music, but also in her donations to planned parenthood across the southeast.

Billie’s new direction with her music is exciting to fans all around the world, and fans will definitely enjoy her new singles being released in the next few weeks.
