In her second year with AVJ Journalism, Pareena Gupta (‘27) is Senior Page Editor for AmadorValleyToday. She loves staying connected to the world and her community through publications such as the Pleasanton Weekly, National Geographic, Time Magazine, and (and believe it or not!) the Costco Connection. Pareena is excited to create news content that is relevant and memorable for the Amador community. 

This summer Pareena got the opportunity to intern with Pleasanton Weekly and created real-world news content for her local community. 

Besides her passion for journalism, Pareena drives climate communication efforts as founder of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The Sustainability Lens. As part of this initiative, she hosts a YouTube podcast known as Simply Sustainability. She interviews climate experts and science communicators who share best practices in climate communication. When not framing sentences, Pareena is found running, reading, watching Gilmore Girls for the 6th time, or dancing. She has an oddly intense love for lemons. Give her anything lemon, and she’s happy to eat it!
