Elissa Jimmerson, Amadon Editor in Chief
Junior Elissa Jimerson is the Editor-In-Chief of Amador’s campus newspaper, The Amadon. She hopes to bring new ideas and excitement to the team this year.
As a sophomore, Jimerson served as The Amadon’s World News & Politics Editor and as the author of a recurring newspaper column entitled Elissa on the Law, which covered a diverse array of legal issues affecting students. As part of her role in AVJ, Jimerson met with and/or interviewed government leaders such as Congressman Eric Swalwell, Pleasanton Mayor Jack Balch, and members of the Pleasanton School Board.
Before joining AVJ, Jimerson took several classes aligned with her love of graphic design and STEAM (i.e., Art, Digital Arts, Arduino & Interactive Art, Procreate, Web Design, and HTML). Jimerson also took AP Computer Science and participated in Amador’s Girls Who Code program, as well as the American Association of University Women’s Expanding Your Horizons STEM Program for Girls.
Jimerson balances her academic pursuits with her love of athletics. She is a starter on Amador’s Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team, and a member of the Amador Girls Golf Team. She also plays competitive lacrosse on both the ADVNC Lacrosse National Development Program (“NDP”) National Team and ADVNC Regional Team (North Bay). Jimerson was also selected for a roster spot American Select Lacrosse team. She hopes to play NCAA Division 1 lacrosse in college.
