"I was incredibly excited to receive the scholarship! I could not be more appreciative of Amador’s administration for organizing an SAT school day in April 2021. "I didn’t really feel much when I found out I won, but applying was basically like another college application, so that was a challenge that I had. I’m glad I got my college application done early so I could interchangeably apply and work on the scholarship."

Maanas Shah (’22)
"I thought winning was pretty cool. Honestly, I was amazed and very happy about it because any amount helps for college, especially since they’re very expensive nowadays. There were 20 people who were finalists but five students who actually won the scholarship. I was just really happy to see it."

Derek Hu (’22)
"I felt ecstatic. The experience taught me how to meet tight deadlines. I was also busy outside of school so it was stressful. Don’t procrastinate -- the actual work isn’t that bad so just stick it out. It might be the easiest few thousand you’ll ever get."

Hyewon Jung (’22)
"I wasn’t expecting to get a scholarship, so it was a pleasant surprise for me when they emailed me about the scholarship. I learned how to stay on top of deadlines for applications, form submissions, which I think are very important practical skills. I’m glad I learned them early on in the application process."
