On April 20, students were emailed a link for the ASB/Leadership 2020 elections through which they were be able to vote for next year’s council members.

This year’s candidates have elected to showcase themselves by making videos and virtual posters. Even with the Covid-19 quarantine keeping us all at home, it’s plain to see that these Amador students are as full of AV school spirit as ever.

In past semesters, Leadership has managed popular school activities like spirit weeks, Homecoming, Pigskin, and other events. Even though this unexpected pandemic has cut off long-time favorites like Junior Prom or Ball, members remain confident that they’ll be back better than ever.

“The team next year will have to have grit and positivity to make it through this. While I have done a lot this year, I am excited to help the new ASB VP in consolidating information and streamlining processes [and] I know that next year’s ASB team will bring more spirit to our school and community,” says ASB VP Megan Sloan (‘21).

Candidates’ goals for next year remain focused on strengthening Amador’s sense of community.

“For the year of ‘20/’21 I would love to create a stronger bond within each grade. I was thinking about creating monthly trips or outside activities for each of the grades… I want to transform Amador into a place of positive memories and strong friendships,” says Chloe Peissner (‘22), a Leadership student and candidate for the juniors’ VP.

It’s certain that Amador will be in good hands next year, but in the meantime, Dons, make sure to check your email and cast your votes on April 20th!
