Q: How long have you been playing tennis?

A: “I have been playing tennis since I was five years old. I began competing seriously in tournaments at age eight.”

Q: How was your season individually?

A: “I had a pretty good season overall and finished with an even 9-9 record. I played some really tough opponents at the number one position, and I came out with some really tough wins and losses. I stayed injury free for most of the season and only missed two games.”

Q: How was the Amador tennis team’s season as a whole?

A: “Our team had a strong season as well finishing with an 11-9 record. We lost three seniors, but we got some new freshman who were very good and also a few players from JV who improved their games as well.”

Q: Will you be attending EBALs or NCS?

A: “I will be playing EBALs, and will be competing at the number one singles position. The results for NCS qualifiers haven’t come out yet, but we most probably will qualify as a team, and I may qualify for individual NCS for doubles.”

Q: What was your goal for this season?

A: “My goal for this season was to come back and retain my number one position on the team. In addition, I also wanted to have a winning record this season which I came very close to. I wanted to also improve certain aspects of my game and wanted to help my teammates also improve their games.”

Q: What is your goal for next season?

A: “My goal for next season is to have a better record than this current season. I also want to get some individual wins against some of the tougher schools like Foothill and De La Salle.”

Q: What is the strongest part of your game?

A: “The strongest part of my game is my endurance and ability to play very long matches. In fact, I played multiple matches this season that were well over 3 hours (the longest being 3 hours and 45 minutes). In addition, I have a good defensive game and can get many  balls back across the net.”

Q: What part of your game do you want to improve upon the most?

A: “A part of my game that I need to improve upon is my aggressive game (hitting the ball harder and being more in control of points/shortening points out). I also need to work on coming up to net more during points.”

Q: Do you want to play tennis in college?

A: “When I was younger and played more state and national level tournaments before high school, I wanted to play division one tennis for college; however, I chose to focus more on school unlike many of my fellow competitors who chose the path to be homeschooled and play tennis full-time. Because of this, I am not as serious about playing division I college tennis, but I definitely would consider playing division 2 or division 3 tennis in college because I really enjoy the game, and it has been apart of my entire life.”
