On April 20, students and staff participated in Sprinkling Happiness on Santa Rita Road. This event first started in 2019 by leadership, which included about 30 students holding up handmade signs with positive messages for students and staff driving or walking by to read.

“I felt really happy holding the posters, smiling at everyone and seeing everyone smile at me. It was empowering and it felt good to know I was making a change by brightening someone’s day a little bit,” said Mark Altherr (‘22).

Many clubs came to participate in sprinkling happiness, bringing themed signs made by admin, teachers, and students.

“We went as a drama club, which I am the president of. Our signs were based around musicals, which I thought was a pretty fun idea. The goal of sprinkling happiness is to just spread positivity for those who might need it that day. It felt nice to really work together as a club and show up to spread smiles,” said drama club president Leila Brown (‘22).

After an hour, Sprinkling Happiness ended successfully, with both participants and other students’ day brightened.

“I loved holding the signs up, it’s always great doing it because it brings a smile to other peoples faces and it sounds pretty cliche, but it’s true and it’s the best thing to do to start your day cause it makes you feel good to be able to see others smile,” said Mr. Weber, Leadership teacher.
